Lutra's principals combine business acumen with a passion for swimming and a proven track record of self-supporting operational management.

David M. Rowland. As he manages operations at two large aquatics facilities, Mr. Rowland's focus is on operational strategy and revenue production via enhanced customer service and innovative programming—strengths that he helps deliver to his clients. Mr. Rowland has a lifelong involvement with aquatics—he swam competitively at the high school and collegiate level, worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor growing up, and continues to swim daily. Mr. Rowland is the founder and President of Lutra Aquatics LLC, President & CEO of Aquatics For Life, Inc., and President of Aquatics For Living LLC.

Mr. Rowland received his Masters in Business Administration degree with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was named a George F. Baker Scholar, a distinction bestowed on the top 5 percent of the graduating class. Mr. Rowland also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude and with Highest Honors in Economics, from Williams College.

Prior to founding Lutra Aquatics, Mr. Rowland was a Consultant with National Economic Research Associates, Inc., a worldwide economic consulting firm providing expert testimony and advice in regulatory and legal proceedings.

Donald C. Bettencourt. Mr. Bettencourt left a successful career in engineering to build and operate his own aquatics facility, SwimCenter One. He also founded Aquatics For Life, Inc. and Aquatics For Living LLC, and has more than 20 years experience operating successful aquatics facilities.

Mr. Bettencourt received his Masters in Business Administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his undergraduate degree from Tufts University. Mr. Bettencourt also swam competitively at the high school and collegiate level.

Jaimie L. Clout. Ms. Clout has 20 years of experience as an aquatics professional, holding positions from early positions as a lifeguard and instructor to more than a decade in the Aquatics Director / Head of Aquatics role. Ms. Clout took on an Aquatics Director position managing Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford, CT. During her time at Cornerstone, the facility received the “Nation's Best Indoor Family Aquatics Center” award from Aquatics International Magazine. Her staff was also credited for saving the life of a patron who collapsed in the facility. Having spent over sixteen years as an emergency responder and over a decade with the Red Cross as a lifeguard instructor trainer, Ms. Clout’s focus lies in the details of daily aquatic operations.

Ms. Clout has been a Certified Pool Operator for over a decade and has earned her CPRP certification in the Parks and Recreation field. Jaimie has been designated as an AqP, the highest recognition as an aquatic professional. Currently she sits on the CRPA Aquatics Committee and is the Aquatic Supervisor for the City of Bristol, CT.
